From Quaziscience Records, J. Augustus teams up with the UK born, LA-based powerhouse, DYER MC, on the very first release of the labels highly anticipated XX Series entitled, "SM-EYE-SIN". J. And DYER waste no time showing you exactly what the heavy-hitting duo is all about from start to finish. DYER'S vocal sets the tone and J. seems unburdened by the regular DJ format stating, "This is a BIG tune! Why be boring and predictable?", in a recent interview on Blang's "Let It Ring" Podcast. J. Augustus came with an unabated minimal tech sound that seems to never let up except for the breakdown. This tune is really DYER'S shining moment; her lyrics are full of substance with a cocky self-assuredness laced throughout. She showcased both her singing and rapping talent for this time and she absolutely kills it. Together, J. Augustus and DYER MC, under the Quasi Imprint have set the bar high kicking off the XX Series. Look for more from these two very soon.

  1. Augustus drops the EP that almost didn't make it, BURST, his follow up to his hot 2020 single, "Hallucinations," also released on his Imprint, QUAZISCIENCE. The title BURST came by its name honestly when all of the songs were lost to an external USB drive holding the project bursting, truly. Let it be known all tunes are mixed and mastered as best as they could be... and they sound great thanks to the ear and talent of Lily Unsub. The EP starts with "No Blinks," a tune that comes from the depths with a very beautiful vibe, some filthy bass, and melodies that are quite unexpected from J. Augustus's previous releases. "No Blinks" is followed by "Drum and Hop" that sets the tone with a heavy-hitting high energy dancefloor banger that gets right to it straight from the beginning. "Telegraphic Future" was inspired by Particle and his minimal yet deep sound on Kasra's imprint, Critical Music. "Can't Afford It," is the contrast and shows the range J. Augustus has in his knapsack of productions, it's simple and slides into your mind like a reverberated dream. On the nastier side, "SHAME / Deserved It" bangs with a relentless gritty bass and glitch FX to close out this body of work. Burst LP was lost forever...or so he thought. Alas, it is not and it is yet another solid release by the Stateside producer. Listen, buy, and enjoy!

Quaziscience imprint drops its fourth release HALLUCINATIONS by J. Augustus and its heavy. another tune for the crazy that is the year 2020. A science intro about the truth of what we know about hallucinations with heavy fx and depth until it drops into a solid break with heavy subbass lowend. the second drop hit you with a high pitched alarm sonic before dropping into a ripping and tearing distorted version of the original bass from the first drop. Another heavy one for J. Augustus and the Quaziscience Team!

BIO FOR: J. Augustus Once a teenager with his head always in a sketchbook, Justin soon began playing in a 3 man band in small town Texas coffee shops. This classically-trained violist, self-taught pianist and street artist has since toured the country emceeing, DJing, producing, remixing your favorite tracks, while filling the city streets with his art.

J.Augustus has now been a staple of the live music scene in Austin, Texas since the late 1990's during which he could never let his passion for spectacular color go. He continued to keep his love of art alive with a spray can in one hand and an MPC in the other. Live performances over the last decade and beyond have cemented his raw talent and ability to connect with his audiences into a formidable force, bringing his own originality to the table in everything he does.

Mind Control QZR003 Is J. Augustus third release on his imprint Quaziscience. After a strong QZR002 King Mode release J wanted to drop this within two weeks. "They just vibe together. They feel like they should be released back to back." said J. Augustus in a quick interview. Mind Control Is very much about the current times and lookout for QZR004 entitled "Hallucinations EP" to follow the trend of the times and great DnB J keeps dropping this year. Shake is, well, a big tune that will make you do just that. heavy bass and gritty sound design are held together by a epic drum set that just bangs out. J. Augustus love to use his own vocals in tunes so you get some of this here in this big roller. Mind Control is a deeper more minimal sound. If you love Bass check what J has done here. some crunchy vibes on the second layer of mids and highs. This tune is epic.

Rising producer J.Augustus started his new imprint, QUAZISCIENCE RECORDINGS, rather quietly in January of this year with the release of the glitchy, funky track titled "Oh Sh*t". His follow-up release is a 2-track EP, titled "King Mode" and rightfully so as J. Augustus is not afraid to show off the potential he is capable of. Coming in to his own raw production style, his music like his name, has evolved and grown.

The title track, "King Mode" is pure 174 BPM magic and there is something primal about the groove and gritty synth that show J.Augustus isn't just filling his tracks with samples but that he knows his way around sound design as well. The second track, "Hover Truck", is a banging sleeper and the star of this show. With its unapologetic aggression and frenzy that mirrors perfectly the feeling of the times we're living in right now, it also rises above the dark times and brings about a kind of spiritual experience. The bass drops into the depths while the mids and highs grind and screech in a way that transcends past all intellect and dives straight into the soul. The percussional mathematical timing of the second drop is unexpected and bassline is highly satisfying.
